I am a single woman, looking for a non-smoking man, preferably located in the US or Canada, who is around the same age as myself.
I am fun, cultured, witty, and I love to travel (Kauaii and NYC are my 2 favourite places on earth). I am slightly adventurous - being in the shark cage off the northern coast of Oahu was the highlight of my last trip to Hawaii.
I enjoy cooking (Jacques Pépin, Ina Garten and Lidia Bastianich are my favourite chefs), dining out (I like ethnic food - Indian, French, Italian, Mexican, Polish, Greek, German, etc. - as well as seafood and real, slow-smoked BBQ) and watching movies (I like drama, documentaries, foreign films, classics, musicals, etc.). I am a bit of a coffee snob.
PBS is my favourite channel on T.V. - I particularly like to watch Great Performances and Live from Lincoln Center. I also like Doctor Who, classic Star Trek, the Big Bang Theory, and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I like shows like Dexter (first couple of seasons) and Deadwood (HBO shows, etc.)
I like to watch hockey (Redwings and Sens), baseball (Tigers) and football (Grey Cup, Superbowl).
I enjoy going to concerts (top 5 are: Bruce Springsteen, Queen + Adam Lambert, U2, Muse and Buddy Guy), live theatre, classical music (Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, Stravinski, Tchaikovsky, etc.) and Italian and French opera (Puccini, Donizetti, Bellini, Bizet, etc.).
I like rock, folk, big band, delta blues and dixieland Jazz (I have pretty eclectic musical tastes). I also dabble in piano, guitar, saxophone, ukelele and harmonica, myself.
I like cats, Newfoundland dogs (I like big, friendly, good-natured dogs - the kind of dog who will rescue you in a fire, or bring you brandy in a snowstorm) and gerbils.
Camping, fishing, going for walks in the woods, swimming and canoeing are in my blood, since I grew up in Northern Ontario. I also like to garden.
I hate mushrooms and eggs (i.e. fried, hard boiled, scrambled, omelettes, etc.), but could happily eat pasta every day of my life.
I have a plethora of other hobbies and interests too numerous to list.
